Petros Zoumboulakis was born in Athens.
He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Yiannis Moralis with a scholarship from the state Scholarship Foundation which covered his entire period of study. He graduated with many distinctions. Following his graduation from the painting studio, he then studied stage design, interior design and advertising again at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Vassilis Vassiliadis, where he obtained other distinctions.
He also studied Byzantine and Popular Art in Greece with another State Scholarship Foundation scholarship.
He organized forty-five (45) one man shows in Greece. He participated in many important group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He was participant also in many international Biennale. While keeping up his painting activities, he has also worked for the theatre and cinema, designing scenery and costumes. He has also worked for state theatres. He has illustrated novel, poetry, school, children books and calendars. He also designed book covers and records. He collaborated with many art magazines and newspapaers. He designed and decorated bank pavillions and many international fairs.
For twenty-two years he taught applied Arts in professional Schools and the Technical University. His works, may be seen in the National Gallery, in the Ministry of Education collection and in municipal and private collections both collection and private museums. Also in many Greek Banks Art collections.
Awarded by the Academy of Athens for his work in 2011.
