September 5, Close approach of the Moon and Mars observed and imaged. May 23, Hosted a live broadcast of Venus and Mercury through the telescope on Youtube. May 15, I got up at am to attempt to see Comet Swan from a nearby college with an open field. Due to light pollution, hazy skies and how close it was to the horizon, this did not work out. After returning home, I took some images of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Later that day, my wife and I did some early evenings views of Venus and Mercury and were able to see an impressive 6 minute fly over of the ISS.

This afternoon at 2 PM the moon was passing only several degrees south of Saturn. I decided to go for it and succeeded in observing Saturn in the daytime! Yes, this is sort of a silly thing to do, but is an interesting challenge as most people would never think that you can see planets during the day. Last month I managed to see both Jupiter and Venus in the afternoon when the moon was near Venus, but could not find Saturn.
